Suspension of GTT and Next Steps
Please kindly note that the Japanese Government has taken the decision to suspend GTT. The entire program be suspended from 28th Dec until February 7th

What is "Go to Travel" Campaign?
The Japan government is launching a new campaign to encourage domestic tourism in Japan. This campaign will provide an accommodation discount to Japanese residents of 35%.
Discount will be provided to customers by Agoda. Agoda will then we pay the whole amount to properties. Agoda will then claim the discount from Japanese government, your property has no role to play in claiming the discount.
The campaign launches in Japan on July 22, travellers can start getting a discount on Agoda from August 5th.
Campaign Details
- Campaign is backed by the Japan/JTA/JATA government
- Customers can book from 22 July 2020 - 31 January 2021 with stay period between 22 July 2020 - 02 February 2021 (check out date)
- Accommodation discount is 35%, value up to 14,000 JPY/night/person
- Agoda provide the discount to customers and pay the whole amount to properties, while claiming the 35% from the government. Hotel is not required to handle discount claim.
- Bookings are strictly non amendable, including name amendment.

How to identify "Go to Travel" bookings?
- "Go to Travel" clause will display in the hotel voucher.
- Bookings are strictly non amendable, including name amendment.
Booking Types
Type 1: New bookings
- Booking created between 29 July - 31 January 2021
- Period of stay between 29 July - 01 February, 2021 (check out date)
- Made at eligible accommodations
Type 2: Existing bookings made on Agoda when Hotel was not approved but is approved at later date
- Booking created between 22 July - 31 August, 2020
- Period of stay between 22 July - 1 September 2020 (check out date)
- Made at eligible accommodations
- Customer paid full price before discount
- Customer can can contact our CEG department to request for refund of 35% of the booking value
Type 3: Existing cancelled bookings made on Agoda for Tokyo residents and Tokyo destination
- Booking created between July 10 - July 17, 2021
- Period of stay between 22 July - 02 February, 2021 (check out date)
- Customer can contact our CEG department to cancel
Cancellation Policies
Bookings for this campaign will be fully refundable.
We have communicated this new cancellation policy to properties via email. If you opt-out from this cancellation policy, your property will not be eligible to participate in the campaign and will not be shown to customers when searching via campaign funnel.
We highly recommend you to stay in this campaign as it benefits both guests and your property as mentioned above. If you do not agree with the cancellation policy, please reach out to Agoda Accommodation Support via the Support Widget in the YCS
Customer Eligibility
To be eligible for the campaign, customers must not be residents of Tokyo prefecture for stays from July 22nd to September 30th, 2020 (due to COVID related restrictions).
- Tokyo properties will be eligible for GTT discount on stays from 1st Oct onward.
- Tokyo residents and bookings are enabled from stays from 1st October, 2020 onwards.
- Customers can book from 22 July 2020 - 31 January 2021 with stay period between 22 July 2020 - 02 February 2021 check-out date.
Customer Spending Voucher
JTA will now issue a voucher to the hotel to provide to the customer. The voucher allows the customer to visit local restaurants and attractions and can be used as a form of payment.
Information about the voucher or paper coupon for GTT:
- The paper coupon can be used from 1st October onwards
- Paper coupons will or have been shipped to each hotel from JTA office directly for Agoda customers only
- We will inform the coupon amount on the hotel voucher in the special request section
- There is no need to print coupons as printed paper coupons will be delivered by JTA
- Agoda and hotels are not involved in reimbursement costs. Reimbursement will be the responsibility of shops and restaurants where customers used to redeem the coupons
