Understanding the Rate
At Agoda, there are 3 different rates that you may encounter:
- Reference Sell Rate > This is the total cost to your customer; the room rate including taxes and Agoda’s commission.
- Loaded Rate > This is the price that you provided to Agoda via YCS; there are different rate load type options for loading this rate on YCS.
- Net Rate includes tax & fees > This is the total amount you get including the taxes & fees after any promotion or channel discount and Agoda's commission.
Rate Load Type
Agoda’s default rate load type is Sell-Inclusive, which is the total rate including taxes, fees, and Agoda's commission. We will then provide you information on the amount to which you are entitled with Net-Inclusive details, which is total rate after Agoda’s commission, including taxes and fees.
Let’s take a look at an example below to see how a rate is loaded on YCS, depending on the options selected.
- Property Selling Price on Agoda is 100
- Tax set as 10%
- Property Commission is 15%

Discount Model Type
There are 2 discount model types, which provide you more pricing options to show customer and boost bookings.
- Multiplicative > All available discounts, including both channel discounts and promotions, will be deducted separately, one after the other.
- Additive > All available discounts will be added up and the sum of the amounts will be deducted from the sell rate.
Agoda’s default setting would be the Additive discount model type. However, depending on your agreement or requests, your property may be under the Multiplicative discount model type.
If you wish to change your discount model type, you may contact Agoda accommodation support via the Support Widget in YCS.
Calculation Breakdown
Before starting the calculation, you will need to check all the data needed:
- Rate plan that is applied to the booking
- The amount and rate load type that you provided to Agoda before the booking was made by the customer
- Any channel discount that is applied to the booking and the % of that discount
- Any promotion discount that is applied tothe booking

Since Agoda’s hotel booking vouchers will always show the total Net Inclusive booking rate to you, you can use the formula below to find the calculation breakdown by converting the data above.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have difficulty loading rates as sell-inclusive due to my channel manager or other connectivity platform settings requirements; what should I do?
You may contact Agoda accommodation support via the Support Widget in YCS to request applying a different rate load type to match your requirement.
Please note even if a rate load type is updated to match your requirement, calculation on the booking voucher will still be under the Inclusive rate, which included taxes and fees.
A booking has an incorrect rate, how can I report it?
Before reporting, please make sure that you calculate the loaded rate and discount when the booking is made. Any update after a booking is created will not be reflected in the existing booking.
